IS YOUR VALVE NOT SHUTTING OFF?

If you’re valve isn’t shutting off, it could be several different things.
  • Bad diaphragm
  • Could have debris in valve causing it to not shut down properly.
  • The manual bleed screw could have loosened, sometimes caused from the hammering/vibration of valve turning off and on.
  • Bad timer – Sometimes a bad timer or timer module can cause it to send power constantly to that station, causing it not to shut off.

Water not shutting off?

One of the most common service calls we get here at Milton Outdoors Sprinkler Repair is ” our water won’t shut off, we’ve turned the timer off and even unplugged it from the outlet”. There’s good news and bad news. The bad news is, its probably a bad diaphragm or bad solenoid and the water won’t shut off until the valve is fixed. Sometimes it is a bad timer thats sending out power to that zone, unplugging the timer or turning the breaker off, will shut that valve off and make the water shut off. The good news is, Milton Outdoors Sprinkler Repair can fix it. We have the equipment to locate the valves if you’re not sure where they are, they will need to be located to repair. Also if its gonna be some time before we come out or another company, you can shut just the irrigation off if you have a back flow preventer installed on your system. This will just shut the irrigation off until somebody comes out and you’ll still have water to your house. That way you’re not wasting anymore water as well.
